250px-Crusader Kings II box art

The sequel to Paradox Interactive's Crusader Kings is a grand strategy game that will focus mostly on the dynasties of medieval Europe. Games will begin in 1066 and span until 1453.

GameplayEdit

The game can be described as a dynasty here the player controls a Medieval dynasty from 1066 to 1453. Through the strategic use of marriages and assassinations amongst many other things, the player works to achieve success for his dynasty. The simulation is open-ended so the definition of 'success' is completely defined by the player.

The game employs a genetics and education system where children will inherit the traits, culture, religion and skills of their parents and educator. This adds an additional strategy to marriages where a player will attempt to breed the best individuals to maximise the quality of future offspring.

There are five levels of authority in the game; four of which are playable: Barons (unplayable), Counts/Earls, Dukes, Kings and Emperors. Emperor positions are particularly rare.
